Protractor Podcast

As a contractor, commuting between job sites and projects is the daily norm.  We spend quite a bit of time traveling throughout the day in our vehicles.  Some use this time to listen to music, make phone calls, or simply unwind from the stress of each day.  At A Finer Touch Construction, we have tried to take advantage of this time we spend in our commutes to stay productive and continue to increase our industry knowledge. We’ve found that the drive time is a great way to schedule projects, call suppliers, and follow up on trade questions.  And even more importantly, this is a time that can be used as continuing education.  iTunes has made it very accessible to listen to any podcast you may desire.  There are many podcasts related to construction, business development, marketing, and sales.  All of these have been a great resource for us to fine-tune our company procedures, vision, and focus.  It is extremely valuable to use this time to continually sharpen the saw and continue our education in the industry.

Recently, a new podcast was released on iTunes by Martin Holsinger called Protractor Podcast.  Martin has done a great job in the construction industry helping clients and professionals take advantage of the Internet to grow their business. This podcast series really grabbed our attention because it was so unique in contrast to competing for industry dialogue. Protractor Podcast focuses on social media, internet techniques, and modern technology to grow your online presence and build your reputation.  This information has been invaluable as we are continually looking for a way to establish and grow the AFT Construction brand.

Fortunately, AFT Construction had the honor and privileged to be featured as one of the keynote guests on Protractor Podcast on January 24th, 2017. Martin asked us about our company history and beginnings in the construction industry.  We touched on major projects we completed within our own resume and why we have a passion for construction. We also spoke about the social media platforms we use and how they have been beneficial to us as a new and up and coming business.

Since our episode aired, we have listened to each and every podcast released weekly every Wednesday and have gained valuable insight as to how we can better build our business.  Listening to our peers and other successful entrepreneurs has been invaluable.  We highly recommend downloading this podcast series and tuning in each and every Wednesday.
